On 31 May 2016 the Fair Work Commission released its annual wage decision. As a result there is an increase of minimum rates of pay contained within the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010 and the Nurses Award 2010. The increase comes into effect from 1 July 2016 and is set at 2.4%.

Required Action
If you are running a practice that pays staff at minimum wages then you need to ensure you comply.  Significant penalties will apply for non-compliance. For practices that pay staff above award rates you are not required to increase the rate of pay unless it will fall below the minimum rates.
