Our ‘Changing Live’s philosophy means we aim to improve the lives of everyone we deal with in every way we can. But sometimes we go beyond changing the lives of people.
Philip Doyle from our audit team recently spent the weekend on the Coromandel peninsula to assist with the release of two Kiwis (Hurricane and Rain Dance) into the wild with one of our pro-bono clients Project Kiwi Trust. The Project Kiwi team travelled to Waitaia Bay (about an hour north of Whitianga which included some off-roading). They then released the two Kiwis in separate locations. These Kiwis are initially raised in Rotorua until they are strong enough to fight for themselves, giving them a better chance of survival (an increase in survival rate of approx. 40%). The two Kiwis are part of a pilot programme of six Kiwis that will eventually be released into the Hunua Ranges. They are fitted with GPS tracking devices which will remain with them for life. Philip commented “This was an amazing opportunity to be part of. To see the level of commitment to helping re-populate the Kiwis was very impressive!!”
