summer edition 2014 NZ

I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break with family and friends.

2013 was a year with many positive signs indicating that business and the economy is improving. There was more interest in capital expenditure and the banks were very busy with applications for finance. Unemployment has also improved.

What will 2014 bring? Hopefully more of the same, particularly as this is an election year – time will tell. We are certainly positive

I thought I would update you on a programme the directors and senior people are currently undertaking called the JOLT Challenge. This is a programme that runs for nine weeks that aims to stimulate change and growth in each of the participants. It is a life skills programme and has been very well received by us all. I will keep you informed on how we are going.

As some of you may know, Bruce Mincham has retired as a director. Bruce has been a director for 12 years. Bruce and his wife Carolyn retire to their property in Twizel which they are developing. I thank Bruce for his enormous contribution to our firm, and wish them both all the very best for their retirement.
