William Buck is pleased to announce that Michael Brereton, Director, Restructuring and Insolvency, has been appointed as President of ARITA – Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association.
ARITA, with over 2,300 members and subscribers, is the peak professional body representing professionals, including registered liquidators, who specialise in the fields of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround.
Michael has served as an ARITA director since 2012, including roles as Deputy Director and Vice President. Michael was also Chair of ARITA’s NSW/ACT Division Committee for many years.
Michael’s appointment to President of the ARITA Board, an organisation sought out for its deep understanding of restructuring, insolvency and turnaround, is testament to his extensive industry experience, his passion for assisting companies in financial distress and for the profession.
Sean Wengel, Director in Restructuring and Insolvency at William Buck has congratulated Michael, saying his commitment to finding solutions and advocating for improvements to the industry will benefit the ARITA Board and members.

Michael has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, is a registered liquidator, has his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and Masters in Business Administration (Columbia University) and is a Member of CAANZ.
He has been appointed President of ARITA for a two-year term.
