Be Informed Edition 22

In this month’s edition, we are excited to bring you articles from across our service lines.

In tax, we discuss what makes good tax policy, after small business CGT measures were deferred; plus, we debunk Research and Development Tax Incentive myths.

In super, the Draft Productivity Commission Report into Superannuation and new self-managed super fund rules from July 1 2018 have our team discussing the top three things on a SMSF’s mind.

Technology is also a hot topic for small business this month, our Business Advisory team asks – is your accounting system holding you back? Plus General Manger Fi Slaven discusses the importance of cyber-security, with tips on how to future-proof your business.

Our friends at Praxity – our global alliance- have also contributed to this edition, with an excellent article on how Praxity firms are helping NFP’s overcome major accounting standards.

On a final note, we Congratulate Leo Tutt AM, Director and Group Leader of Audit and Assurance at William Buck, who was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) – General Division, as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honour’s list on Monday 11 June. Leo was recognised for his significant contribution to community health, particularly diabetes and, to accounting. Leo’s sincere actions to improve the lives of those around him talks to the core of our purpose; it’s these qualities which our firm aspires towards, rallies around and embodies as our Changing Lives philosophy.
