On the 20th June 2013, the Professional Standards Council (PSC) made an important final decision against renewing the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia current liability capping schemes for any further period after they expire.

The PSC has decided that they do not believe it is appropriate to approve the adoption of new capping schemes in line with the existing framework.

This decision means that liability capping protections will cease in relation to services provided by William Buck after the expiry date in your relevant state jurisdiction, as follows:

  • ACT 30 June 2013
  • QLD 31 July 2013
  • SA 18 August 2013
  • VIC 2 September 2013
  • NSW 7 October 2013
  • WA 7 October 2013
  • NT 25 October 2015
